My weekend started on Friday evening when I decided to chill with some colleagues at Boulevard, a bar just below our office. It was a nice and cool Friday and whilst one would think most people leave work early on Friday to go home to their families or chill with their friends outside of work, Boulevard was actually full; full of the after-work crowd.
After some drinks, I went home, caught a power nap before dressing up to meet the girls at Butter. It's been a long time since we were out together and a long time since I had gone clubbing. A had just started a new job and she has been extremely busy and highly strung, putting in long hours and even working weekends. "I really need to partyyyy!!!!" Considering I bailed on her last Friday due to immense fatigue and exhaustion - I literally knocked out the minute I got home and just couldn't move a muscle in my body; I made sure I showed up regardless of how tired I felt.
There was surprisingly no massive queue at Butter when I arrive dat 11.45pm. I wondered if Butter had lost a big bulk of their business to FILTER or was it because there was a party going on at FILTER that night - most of my friends were at Filter attending the party but I decided to pass; plus I was obligated to A. Besides, it seems like a typical Friday these days was to show up at Filter, to see and to be seen, get relatively high, then head over to Butter at about 1ish to 2 to end off the night. For those with more energy, there is also the Thai Club, Na Na or Clarke Quay. Anyway, when we went in, the crowd was awfully young and it was really empty. There was just so much space we felt conscious dancing. The solution? Alcohol. Get high and be uninhibited. As we drank, the crowd started coming in and soon we were having a pretty good time. :)
I woke up excited on Saturday as I prepared for my Swedish Massage at the St. Gregory's Spa, 4th floor of the Conrad Hotel. I liked the layout of the Conrad Pool and the way the Spa was classy and private. Service was attentive and the massage was very relaxing. I haven't been to many spas but this was definitely one of the better ones for me.
I love the Millenia area on a weekend. It's just so peaceful and nice. In town yet kinda tucked in a corner. Love it during the week too. I am going to miss this area when we shift offices come year end. :(
In the evening, I went to the Singapore Repertory Theatre to watch CLOSER. It was fantastic!! The staging was fabulous, the cast was extremely talented and the play was thoroughly entertaining and intriguing. I loved every single minute of it. Like the movie, whilst it explored the complications of human relationships, it was also hilarious and witty. I loved it how they were so explicit and open. Personally, I felt it was a milestone for Singapore in how it was so open and how it addressed sexuality in such a tasteful manner. It was extremely well done. Kudos to Pangdemonium Productions! I look forward to more of your works!
Met up with my secondary girls for lunch at Heart Bistro, Palais Renossance. I love it how we have been friends for so long and how we have seen each other through our best and worst. It's been over 10 years now and here we are still sitting together, laughing and talking. Whilst our topics may have evolved over the years, as do our opinions, our clothes, our hair, and our venues; it's still us, just as we were before, having fun and enjoying each others' company. I love u girls!!!! No judgement, just friends I know I can count on. (too bad we forgot to take a picture today!!)
After lunch I went and got my hair chopped and coloured. Not exactly the colour I was looking for but I guess it will do. I actually would like to try Tan Kheng Hua's hair colour in the play Closer. Her dressing and her hair were really sexy in the play. Totally unexpected and surprising. Heh Inspired. Anyone knows where I can buy nice scarfs?? Super into them these days but I only have 2! :(
Oooooh walked through a shop today at Raffles City called Forever New. PRETTY!! Lots of floral but it's the SATC type of floral. Love the bags and the clothes and shoes!! Too bad I didn't have time to shop there today but I definitely would like to go back! The price range is fairly reasonable too!!
Today was a "take care of myself day". After getting my hair done, I went to my usual FE Nails, where I had arranged to do my nails with A. It was a lovely girly afternoon which ended off with dinner at Hanabi and drinks at Brotzeit with my 2 As. Girly talk, just the way I like it! :P
Ooooh wish we had more free time to meet up more often. It's so difficult to book everyone's calendar these days. Wish I had my own place so I could invite my friends over, order in, or cook. Hmmm….can't wait! hee and of course, my very own walk in wardrobe!! *dreaming*
Wow. It's late!! Time to turn in now…Monday tomorrow! Good night!!! :)
