Spain Photo Journal: Day 6

on our way to barcelona!
our very comfy and modern hotel Eurostar Lex. It's a very new hotel. Not as near to the city centre as our Madrid and Seville hotels but near enough by cab. And the metro is a 5-8 minutes walk away. That's the thing with Spain, hotels are expensive. So if you want a good hotel, be prepared to stay further away or else PAY MORE!

Our shower was really cool. It had one of those jacuzzi things..the power nozzle. Compared to our last 2 hotels, this was luxurious and MODERN! Very nEw!

All set to check out Barcelona!! Love my new H&M puffed sleeve top and lace skirt!
and of course my trusted ninewest boots which I bought from Sydney last year and my new Pull & Bear's pvc/leather jacket! oh yes, and my cute longchamp. hahaha another trusted travel companion. :)

taking the metro for the first time in spain. I was so paranoid worrying about pickpockets! But it's actually fine. Just hold your stuff close, be alert, and guys, don't put anything in your pockets. carry a bag and hold it in front.

Barcelona's streets are nice, wide and spacious. As with most of spain actually. There were so many Zaras and H&Ms, we were in retail heaven. Personally, I think Barcelona is great for clothes shopping but Madrid would be better for luxury goods shopping. They carry more brands and they are all located in an up-market area.
after walking around, we decided to have dinner at an al fresco joint (Spain is littered with them, all of which look really inviting!). The weather was nice and cool. Not as chilly as Madrid and definitely not humid like Singapore, making it perfect for dinner outdoors. Love people watching and just soaking in the atmosphere…

our dinner
sigh I miss Spain already…
We didn't do much during our first day in Barcelona. We arrived at the hotel in the afternoon, made some instant noodles and basically watched our series (mentalist) in the hotel room, lazed for a bit before heading out. Heh perhaps it was because our last 2 hotels weren't great, and finally we were staying in a proper hotel, so we just wanted to enjoy our room more. We definitely spent a lot more time in this hotel room than we did Madrid and Seville. :p

Tune in for Day 7!
