I am exhausted and in need of a vacation. Totally looking forward to my Spain trip come October! :p It's gonna be fantastic…any recommendations on where I should visit? :)
Friday night was dinner with the cousins from San Jose again. We went to the Soup Restaurant at United Square. Yummsss…for those of you who have read my food blog, the Soup Restaurant is pretty awesome. Oooohhh…on Thursday night, we took them to Watami at ION, and they loved it! I did several reviews on Watami before so do check it!
After dinner on Friday, we headed to HOUSE @ Dempsey for some awesome Truffle Fries and drinks. Whilst I had my usual German Riesling, the cousins order the Long Island Tea for four. It was very refreshing and very tasty. The Long Island Tea was also nicely served in a traditional chinese tea pot and tea cups. Very nice…too bad I didn't bring my camera to take pictures!
After HOUSE, I had to rush off for a friend's birthday drinks @ this chillout place Night & Day along Selegie. It's pretty nice and cosy with interesting drawings on the walls. The place is seriously obscure though…literally a hole in the wall. We ended off with "dao huay" and "you tiao". Very satisfying.. :)
Slept in on Saturday - THANK GOD. Needed the rest…Met L (my gal cuz from San Jose) at Chinatown Point to get hair extensions (for her). This place Angel Xin on the 3rd floor of Chinatown Point seemed pretty good and they have received positive reviews online. They also charge reasonably at $100 for 100 bunches and they give you 50 free. We managed to find one that was the exact same hair colour as L's and even similar curls! According to her it was painless and the whole process was extremely fast. We were done in half an hour to 45 minutes. It was very well done. You could not even tell she was having extensions on! After which we headed to THE SCENE at Wisma, my regular salon to see my stylist Rebecca. I needed to get my bangs sorted as they were getting long heavy and flat. Plus it was Gram's 82nd birthday that night and I wanted to have Rebecca blow my hair nice and pretty. :)
Gram's bday dinner this year was held at the SICC. We are a pretty big family filling 3 tables and we didn't even have full attendance! I wonder how many tables we would fill if our whole family was there. Anyway, it was nice to see everyone again. After dinner, the cousins went up to Altitude (which is awesome I heard), whilst I went to find my boy at our friends' engagement party - CONGRATS Daps & Geks! It was a lovely party and everyone dutifully dressed up according to the theme of oldish charm. By the time I arrived, I swear at LEAST a third of the people there were already high on alcohol. :)
Today, the cousins met up again for some dim sum lunch. It was yummy and very reasonable. This was at The CATHAY restaurant, 2nd floor of the Cathay. Check my food blog for my review on it. I was very disappointed though that they removed my favourite scallop chee cheong fun from the menu. I was so looking forward to it! :( Bummer…
After lunch, I took L to Haji Lane for some shopping. It was alright but nothing much although different from your usual Orchard Road fare.
I was so tired that I couldn't pull myself out of bed from my short nap post shopping. But dinner was at Jumbo Dempsey and I just HAD to wake up for that. NO REGRETS. Awesome dinner - Thanks DAD!!! :)
I usually am not a fan of Chilli Crab but the CHilli Crabs here were amazing. I loved it! I also almost forgot how good the Black Pepper Crabs @ Jumbo are. They are still not my numero uno, but they are good. :) *slurp* Dinner was sumptuous and I think we all had a terrific time.
Now, I have some packaging for FashionITCH to do then I should be turning in. Really tired. Here are some pictures…
