hongkong is the summer is way too hot for my liking..

its like singapore.. just maybe a tad less humid.. but still as icky and hot...

I ususally make an annual trip up to hk in dec.. taking a break from the sweltering singapore heat!

the trip was supposed to coincide with the hk sales... how gravely misinformed i was!! :(

the sales are in june/july and by the time august comes.. there is absolutely nothing..

although that didnt stop me :) a bag a day made hongkong all worthwhile :)

hk in the summer is completely different.. didnt realise weather really does make such a huge difference to the allure of a place..

All the places we frequent seemed different.. less appealing..less inviting..

the little roadside stalls and teahouses were packed.. and with the heat came the grime and the clammy feel..oh and not forgetting that it rained twice when we were there???

no more hongkong in the summer for me....

the only consolation! the food is still as good!! :)

from the golf-ball sized wantons.. to the shui liu shan mago drinks and the newly revived bubble tea...

dimsum brunches are a must.. and we tend to go overboard with the ordering!! 11longs for 2 of us? its no wonder that half of it was left over..but when it come up to only 10-15 per head.. theres really nothing stopping you from ordering more! :)

and of course.. the seafood! we always tend to get cheated when we go to these seafood places where they dont state prices...so thankfully we met up with an excolleague who brought us to an amazing place called 'underbridge spicy crab'.. appparently its still a touristy place.. but its was good!! and reasonable too. crabs come with a spiciness level and tonnes of garlic.. and salted duck egg crab.. and lala.. and mantis prawns. and scallops.and white fish.. and blue girl beer to top it off :P
