My Latest Fragrance :)

Yes, print advertisements in magazines like CLEO totally work on me. I first chanced upon this fragrance via a tester inside of CLEO and I loved it right away. It was light, not too pungent, and not too flowery. I like scents like that, which give off a certain sense of femininity, girlish sweets, yet maintains the allure of sexy, and womanly. So here it is, my latest indulgence - Chanel CHANCE.

Growing up, I always liked male cologne over female perfume. It just appealed to me more. I started out using colognes like Giogio Armani Aqua and Tommy Hilfiger.

But then I realised that I was supposed to be attracted to the male cologne scent. That's the whole idea isn't it? We are supposed to be attracted to that scent. That's why guys spray it on. To lure and attract women. To give off that sexy appeal, or for some, that musky, years on their shoulders appeal. Or simply that masculinity or sporty vibe. I guess what I am saying is, I realised that we weren't supposed to don a scent we are attracted to but rather the sort of scent we would like to give off, the type of appeal we would like to have, and in some ways, how we want to package ourselves. Of course, I am not asking you to choose a scent that totally repels you. I am just saying that scent is really important and by instinct, we are attracted to some male cologne and men are attracted to us based on the scents we use as well. So by nature, cologne appeals to us, and perfume appeals to the guys. It's just a matter of what type of scent appeals to what type of person.

Anyway, I finally moved away from cologne and got my first perfume. I can't quite recall which came first but I started using Davidoff Cool Water for women, and Dior Addict. Both of which are not bad, but not good enough for me to stick to it. Or perhaps I just evolved as a person and decided the scents didn't spell ME.

In University, and as I just started working, I used Lancome Miracle. Now this is a safe bet. I can assure you that most guys like this scent. It's sweet, and not too pungent. Quite pleasant actually. I used it for some time but as I am not one to use the same scent for too long, I changed again. But I am using the Lancome Miracle Body Lotion now and I love it. The texture is great. I love how my skin feels after using it and more importantly, it leaves a nice scent just as you go to bed or when you leave the house. And yes, S likes the scent. :)

Through CLEO once again, I discovered a new scent by Lanvin. It is called Eclat D' Arpege. Now this is a WINNER. Everyone loved it. Girls and Guys included. And I guess because it is Lanvin, it isn't a common fragrance so many people actually came up to me to ask what fragrance I was using. I love this. It's a very unique scent. Not floral like Miracle, yet sweet, light, and just a little different from most fragrances. I think I used this fragrance the longest. It just made you feel confident and attractive. No kidding!

Then I got bored again, so when Lanvin launched a new fragrance Jeanne, with S's approval (in fact he liked it so much he bought it for me), I decided to try it.

The packaging was pretty and whilst the fragrance was nice too, it was a tad stronger than Eclat and it also smelled more common. More like the others. After I was done with it, I tried another. This time, Vera Wang's Princess. Now, the scent itself ain't great. In fact I would say it's a little strong. More towards the pungent side. I chose it for 2 reasons: the bottle was pretty and I was looking for a more mature scent. I was in a job which required me to present myself as an older, more mature individual, and so along with perming my hair, I decided on the Vera Wang Princess, to give a more serious, more mature feel.

I still have the Vera Wang Princess, but being the itchy backside that I am, I now have the Chanel Chance as well which I believe is an in-between. Not too strong, yet not too floral, and different from my previous fragrances. Perhaps one day I will go back to the Eclat. But for now, I am loving my Chanel Chance. :)
