started the day with brekkie just opposite our hotel. it was peaceful and quiet with kids going to school and people going to work. it was nice just sitting there, observing how people live, going about their daily activities.

i know this is very common everywhere but this was huge and extremely clear. check out our reflection!
the streets were littered with h&m and zara! truly a shopping haven. and whilst they had similar items, each store also had something slightly different. ooooh on one hand, I am really excited about h&m coming to sg but on the other hand, it also feels kinda sian cos then everyone will be wearing the same thing. it will be no different from zara and mango. bleh. i think i'd rather have h&m as an holiday guilty pleasure.
there was a strike going on whilst we were there. i heard the horns from afar but i thought they were car horns due to heavy traffic. apparently such strikes have become rather common and regular in spain. and the horns? haha they were from the protesters, literally sounding horns. everyone was rather calm i must say. even the police strolled over and somehow everything settled amicably. even though traffic was held up, not one car sounded their horn. hahaha interesting isn't it?
we visited yet another cathedral in barcelona but this is nothing compared to the sagrada familia. look out for the pics in my next entry of my spain trip!
one of the homes designed by gaudi. his work is just so distinctive and everything has a reason behind the way it is being designed. there is a lot of science to his work and his vision was truly extraordinary. u can almost feel his heart and commitment to every project. every single one is a masterpiece. I took many pictures here. will do up a separate entry some time on all of gaudi's work. truly amazing.
it's been 2 months since Spain…feels so long ago…highly recommended for a romantic holiday with good food, great wine, awesome scenic and crazy shopping! :) drop me a line if u need some ideas on how to piece your itinerary.
